Note: Trace amounts of lead and other heavy metals can be found naturally occurring in virtually all soils at low background levels which can, in turn, potentially be absorbed by foods during the growing process in even smaller amounts. These amounts are negligible and are considered well within the safe dietary limits of the FDA of which we and our growers are strictly compliant to. While it is important to be mindful of potential exposures, lead is naturally present in the environment and most foods like fruits, vegetables, nuts and seeds can contain very small traces.

In order to ensure our products comply with California's ballot initiative Proposition 65 which requires all businesses selling products in California to inform Californians if they could be potentially exposed to any of the over 900 chemicals identified by California's Office of Environmental Hazard Assessment, we have chosen to label all of our products this way as they are products of nature.
